The Anglican Church Women (ACW) of the Diocese of the Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands, was established in 1963 by Bishop Bernard Markham, and grew out of a recognized need for more deliberate and increased participation of women in the Church at both the parochial and Diocesan levels. Through the ACW, the Church presents a body through which women, empowered by the Holy Spirit, may intensify their service to God, share God’s word and love to others, make Christ known throughout our diocese and the world, foster and promote spiritual discipline through worship, study and a more fervent prayer- life. Through this ministry, women will give of their time, talent and treasures in furtherance of God’s Will and the building up of His Kingdom in our Diocese.
To this end, the first ACW Branch at St. Ambrose was established and began in 2002 under the presidency of Ms. Hazel Carroll.
